Nobody enjoys goalie and that could be a major problem for the game.
I play a lot of competitive scrims and tournaments, but I also play a lot of Quick Match. The quick match gives a good representation of the casual player and the new players and how they feel. And talking to people in coms, when they find out I'm a comp GK they often talk about how difficult GK is to learn and how they don't like it. They say it feels impossible! Often asking "How do you play GK? It feels really buggy! Can you give me any tips?" Then I tell them that my biggest tip is to not play GK (joking). But to the casual player, GK appears to be a very difficult and critical position that not everyone can play, and they are often too afraid of making a mistake to give it a try, even in Quick Match!
In comparison, the competitive scene seems to have similar issues but manifest a bit differently. There is a shortage of GKs in the comp scene. There are plenty of teams wanting to form, but not enough GKs to go around. Imagine getting a team with you and your friends and seeing tournaments to sign up for but you can't find a GK! Or another problem, your GK decides to quit the game or take a month long break (happens quite often!). This also leads to a huge skill difference between GKs and having really, really good defenders is more important to a successful team, but only because GKs are so limited in the types of shots they can save.
My suggestion, speed up the dive animations. You can shrink the hitboxes to reduce magnets but this also puts a higher emphasis on reaction times. And new players to GK need some leniency in this. They can't just go Ultra Instinct and save shots on pure reaction, that is something that has to be trained! Increasing the dive speed will put less emphasis on reaction times and more of an emphasis on "diving the correct direction", and that is a good thing!

DunsfordAlso makes it unfair to GKs when the strikers get drag animations on missile shots, like they are on jet packs and slide 3 character lengths in the air before shooting. Strikers also have controller tech where they can use misleading animations where they are aiming to the left, but the shot goes to the right. And strikers are getting dragged through defender's blocks and tackles are going through the ball.
I just worry about the future of this game if you guys continue with this plan of shitting on GKs, yet leaving in all the abuse strikers get away with. Makes it feel unfair and no fun.
